The Association of Certified Background Investigators, Inc. was established in Chantilly, Virginia on October 1, 2001. "ACBI" was Chartered and Incorporated on March 7, 2003. "ACBI" is a Non-Profit organization and tax exempt under Article 501-C6 of the Federal Tax Code. "ACBI" is recognized by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management as an organization representing Federal Contract Background Investigators conducting National Security Background Investigations.

  • January 2002 - present – Contract Investigator -Omnisec International Investigations Inc.
  • August 1979 – August 2001 (retired) – Lieutenant- Denver Police Department, Denver CO.

Experience

  • Four years at the Vice/Drug Control Bureau of the Denver P.D., 1988 to 1992. I headed up a large Federal drug eradication grant which required extensive money handling and bookkeeping.
  • One year as campaign treasurer for a candidate running for City Council, City of Denver.
  • Eleven years at the rank of lieutenant, six years at the rank of sergeant and eleven years as a patrol officer (5 years in Denver and 6 years in two other police agencies).
  • Eleven years of various investigative assignments including: vice/narcotics, traffic, internal affairs and new hire background investigations.
  • Five years as a SWAT officer (two other police agencies) and three + years as a SWAT shift commander (Denver).
  • Nine years as Certified Police Academy Instructor (full time 4 years and part time 5 years). Taught patrol procedures & tactics, firearms, arrest & control techniques (first degree black belt jujitsu) and administration of justice.
